Book Arts Workshops at the Ninth Annual

This year's wayzgoose will include Saturday morning workshops in Book Binding and Paper Marbling. Both workshops will take place from 9:00 am-Noon. Preregistration is required. The fee for each workshop is $30, to be paid before 17 October 2008.

Book Binding

Facilitated by well-known Nova Scotia conservator and bookbinder Ruth Legge, this workshop will teach participants the basics of 'case binding'. The workshop will be limited to 10 participants, selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Each participant will have the opportunity to bind their own blank book during the session. Materials will be provided. There is a $30 fee for participants. This workshop will be held Saturday morning 9:00-Noon at the Kentville Rec Centre. This workshop is now full. A waiting list will be kept in case of cancellations.

Paper Marbling

This workshop is intended to introduce participants to the basics of making decorative paper through the process of marbling. The facilitator is bookbinder Joe Landry of Cow Bay, NS. This workshop will be limited to 10 participants, selected on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a $30 fee for participants. This workshop will be held Saturday morning 9:00-Noon at the Kentville Rec Centre.

Where are the workshops?

Both workshops will be held in the Kentville Rec Centre at 354 Main Street. This is in the building attached to the Town Hall.
